At what age is the Coton typically potty trained?

Our Coton is 3/12 months and she is a sweetheart. We have a crate inside a large pen area. Also in there is a litter box. This is what the breeder used and we've continued. She will use the litter tray, but will also yelp if she wants to potty outside. In addition, we take her out after eating, waking, etc. We've recently started taking her for short lease walks. She loves that and will go there too. My question is this. She will also find a soft throw/area rug when the mood suits her. I try not to leave her unattended as I know she will do this. The crazy thing is that she will pass up the back door, and her pen/litter to go on a rug.

I almost feel like she has plateaued BUT I may have unrealistic expectations....thank you and looking for advice. Thank You.

potty time NEW

Mine did that too. I know it's a hassle, but I took up my throw rugs. I think my Saylor Jane thought they were an awesome potty pad. It got better as time went on and it helped that Saylor Jane followed me everywhere. We also took her out every hour that she was out of her crate. Good luck. They are certainly a special breed.
