Spanky's Pool Time!

Spanky loves his new pool! He plays with his ball in the pool, jumps out, then back in. He also has developed quite a singing voice (never knew Coton's to be howlers). His favorite song seems to be the song from the Ice Cream Truck (Mr. Softie)... Hooooowwwwllll!

Just stopping in to give you an update on the Spankanator! He's doing great, now a 1 1/2 old and still the charmer, as you can see. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far... Spanky is getting a pool in the near future... pics to follow im sure.

Its Spanky-Time!

Spanky is now part of the group, Crusin Canines. Through MeetUp we are invited to join in a special doggie adventures. Our first one was the Old Wesbury Gardens Dog Day this past Saturday. The joy seen on Spanky's face says it all. He loved to run to the front of the pack to lead the way. We later sat on the lawn greeting all the other dogs (and there were many to be greeted!) Needless to say, later that day, Spanky slept... and slept... and slept...

Hello my fellow Coton lovers! Spanky just wanted to drop by and say Hello! He's doing great! He is having a ball in his yard and its happy as can be. Still the well behaved dog he has always been and we just love him so much! Spanky will bark with pure pleasure just at the sound of "Daddy" or "Mommy". As soon as you say it, he runs to the front door looking for that person. He loves to fetch his balls in the yard and enjoys a good Bully stick every morning. Absolutely, the best doggie ever!

Spanky is now 2 weeks shy from his 1st Birthday. (We are planing his bday party as we speak). Saying Spanky is spoild is an understatement, but being such a wonderful dog, he totally deserves it! He really is a very well behaved dog and brings us so much Joy. We are looking forward to celebrating not only his 1st birthday but also his first Christmas! Happy Holidays to everyone!

Coton de Tulear, Spanky (6 months)

Our Coton de Tulear, Spanky, had his first episode of Fleas! I was crazy worried. But the groomer said it wasn't bad at all. He's on revolution, but i think i may have applied it wrong so we'll see. He loves the dog park, but i am pretty sure that is where he got them so avoiding the park now. He relies on play dates and K9 sightings during our walks (he has a lot of local friends these days).

Spanky is so house broken that he now refuses to use the wee wee pad. We were hoping he would use both so on bad weather days, he'd have a 2nd option. We have been keeping the wee wee pad on the deck (we do not have a yard - 2nd floor apt) and hoped that when the snow came around (like it did this past winter were we were housebound for days) he would use the wee wee pad, but he just isn't having it... he will wait for his walk (we now walk him 3-4x daily).

He's lost 3 teeth thus far, you can always tell when its happening when he does a lot of lip smacking. We love him so much, i'm obsessed! Can you blame me? Look at him!!!! (on way home from his flea bath - he has bangs just like mommy... LOL)

Spanky spent the day at his grandparents today and met his cousin Chewie (Mini Pin) for the first time. Rough start, but the end result was big fun!

Spanky has brought so much joy into our lives. He is the best dog and gives us so much love. He came home with us at 1.9 lbs (runt) and now a little shy of 4 months, is a 4.1 lbs. Our next visit is this Saturday, and we can't wait to see how much he has gained.

We couldn't imagine life without him. He is the apple of my eye, the love of my life!

Our Coton de Tulear, Spanky, loves Paisley, the groomer at Petco in New Hyde Park, NY. Spanky always comes home looking spiffy and happy after his visit with Paisley, he loves her! And everyone at Petco loves him too.

No more fleas, no more poopie problems, he's doing great which is what we are used to with Spanky.

The only thing is now he is begining to "talk back" barking at us when saying no but its still an issue. He also likes to find things from the bathroom garbage basket... but we always catch the little rascal. He's also barking when being ignored which is not often (like right now, as I type at 6:46am, he's barking at me to get my attention... im sure the neighbors are not thrilled but im hoping since everyone has their AC on, they don't hear himm since its not excessive - lets hope he grows out of this... looks like training sessions are in spanky's future!

So many of my friends love my little guy they suggested I create a fan page on FB... so I did (the nickname came from a co worker who's just head over heals for him... LOL. He also goes by the nickname Spanky-poo, Snank-a-doodle, as well as Swiffer and Hoover, as he eats everything off the floor, lol!)

Spanky, a week shy of his 8 month birthday

Spanky has been neutered, 2 weeks ago, and is doing fine and dandy. Every day with this dog brings me utter joy and happiness (if only all things could bring this much joy to us right?). I couldn't bare to keep him in that hard plastic cone (although, he did not seem to mind) so we got him the Comfy Cone from Petco... He's now completely healed and better than ever! We love our Coton's don't we?!!!!

We are totally in love with our Spanky. Now 14 weeks and still a joy for us. He is so good, listens well. Wee Wee pad trained with only 3-4 accidents since we got him at 9 weeks. He knows sit, stay and come. He has just stated walking with a harness and leash with no issues. This pic shows him in his booster seat on the way to the vet. Best gift he has gotten, he sits so well in the seat.

Honestly, best breed I ever witnessed. He is due for his last round of shots next week and then we can venture outside, and have play dates, we are so excited!

Spanky, now 5 months old, has been the apple of my eye since the day we took him home. Fully housebroken, he is the king of well behaved dogs! He gives us so much love I couldn't ask for a better child.

Petco was having a special - $9.99 for professional photo's. What the heck, right? Totally worth it, I mean... look at him!!!! (love love love love)

Spanky's new home with a Yard!

It has been so long since I have posted on this site. We have been busy getting Spanky a Yard! We just moved into a new place that includes a huge Yard for Spanky to romp around in. He is so happy, as are we!

Spanky is the most affectinate, well behaved loving dog and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful creature. He has turned 1 yrs on in December and we will have him for 1 full year this February. We love him so much!
