Dog Food Most Like Kibbles and Bits

My little diva is very fussy and refuses to eat all of the foods I get. She is two and half and it took me almost two years just to get her to eat maybe ..once in a while Wellness wet food..BeefStew..and now Merriks Beef Stew..she is not a wet food dog since she only eats when she is hungry...She has been given all of the best foods..Blue, Solid Gold, Natural Balance, etc. etc.

I tried Kibbles and Bits one day and she eats it but picks out the pieces she does not like and leaves them on floor. Is there a good dry food out there that is comparable in texture and size to kibbles and bits that I could try since people tell me Kibbles is not good.

Help?

thank you
MC

Nibbles
by: Vicky & Jonah (Az)

Try & pick 1 dog food that works into ur budget. Ur pup will not starve himself. I give Jonah 1c. a day he is 14#'s. I feed him twice a day. I prefer dry since it is better for their teeth.

There is nothing wrong with putting a tsp. of wet food on top. Their is nothing wrong w/a tsp. grd. turkey, fish or chicken, veggies etc. Flavor ur meat w/dog friendly spices fennel, garlic etc. Cook up only 1/4# at a time. A tsp. of cottage cheese is Jonah's favorite & he never seems to get tired of it. He luvs it & its easy.

There are websites that will give u lists of spices & such. Jonah also likes brussel sprouts, broccoli (watch amount they get gas as we do) carrots etc.

I do not use alot of juices on his food or mix stuff in since if he is not hungry in the morn. I will put in frig. & he gets it for supper. This way u need only to throw away the wet pieces if any & replace. He may only eat the chicken off top in the morning so I top it off again at night with something good for him.

With the cup amount he usually gets 2 milkbones as treats that day. If we are in training mode I cut back on the amount of food for treats used. I usually train with chicken or liver. Turkey hotdog only for special times then I boil for a long time to rid of salt.

Sometimes they are just not hungry. I wish I could learn there rule of eating. :) Treats count as food for the day. If u give a lot of treats subtract it from the amount of daily food.

When Jonah was a puppy he would take his food during training as a treat. As he grew he learned I would pay in a better rewards ie. chicken & liver. U will do fine. Good luck.

My coton is the silliest eater
by: Jill

I am with you on being perplexed as to why my dog doesn't like bones, dog food and will only one kind of treat - beggin strips! I feed him Blue - small breed in the pink can. It is the only dog food that I have found he will eat. Most times to get him to eat his dog food we stick in a few beggin strips to get him started or plain chicken on top and then he will usually eat the dog food. It is crazy but he likes brussel sprouts, broccoli and lasagna or anything with tomato sauce! We discovered he liked those vegetables because they actually fell on the floor accidentally and he loved them. Unlike most dogs, he usually doesn't even eat anything that drops! Very picky. We are always amused and surprised by what he likes and what he refuses!

Dog Food
by: Deborah

Hi, I feed my Coton Fromm's, the main ingredients are all the same thus making it great to change flavours every so often without digestive upset for my dog. I sometimes top off his food with a little Fromm's wet can food as well when he gets a little fussy. Has worked for me and the ratings for Fromm's are quite high 4* and 5*
Good luck.
