Dog's tail position

My dog Heidi's tail has always been up - so bushy and lately it is hanging down. What would be causing this? Should I be concerned?

Tail question
by: Anonymous

My Coton de Tulear looks uncomfortable when he sits. It's like his tail is getting in the way. Just wondered if this is normal. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My Coton puts his tail in the down position when he is uncomfortable about a situation.

Beany's tail NEW
by: Anonymous

I can always tell how Beany is feeling by the position of his tail. Curled up over hIs back wagging is the best. I feel the coton in the westminister dog show didn't finish higher is because he drug his tail. I think his nervousness showed in his tail. Just my opinion.

Mine puts hers down if she is guilty of something, otherwise it is almost always up. When very sleepy and she is changing positions it always goes down. I can tell a lot of what she is feeling by watching her....... aren't they just the best dogs ever?

No. If you watch Westminister Dog Show you will see the Coton walk around the ring w/tail down. If their moving around wagging it usually is up. Both ways are normal.
