Grooming powder

I've read that grooming powder is good for working mats out. Any product recommendations? I have all manner of cleaners conditioning stuff tools everything ! However my one year old Coton is never totally mat free although I groom every day. Help!

I have not used it yet on my Coton. But, I saw a lady on the web, youtube who used cornstarch to work out the mats. It seemed to work well. And is not toxic, easy to find and economical.
