Hi Tuffy's mom and group. Thanks for sharing. Jasper is about 12 lbs and thankfully I have no airplane travel in the near future but you gave very, very, helpful tips. Thank you. You know, it is funny that even I have only had him for about 3.5 months., I do not want to go on a long vacation if it means leaving him behind. I know that I am attached to him and I think that he is also attached and for dogs we are their everything. Thanks again for everyone sharing your traveling experience. - good and bad!

Travel by AirNEW by: Iris
Tuffy has as may air miles as me.He has flown on board with me from California to CT.,and CT. to CA, CT to Canada, Arizona, and stops in between. He's done pretty well. His first experience flying he was only 4 mos.old.The Vet gave me a sedative for him, but be very careful,my Vet prescribed for my dog,a half of a BABY Benedryl it makes my dog drowsy, Please study up on air travel with your dog. Tuffy is six years old now. I walk him around a lot before we go to the airport, and as much as possible keep moving around until we board.
Check online with the rules of the airlines you fly with. Most will allow a dog weighing ten pound and under, to fly on board, inside their carrier under the seat in front of yours. There is very little room for this. That means they will be smashed down in there for many hours. I got yelled at a couple of times for letting him out of the carrier.A couple of years ago I got Tuffy approved by my Physician as my service animal, which the airlines require him to travel on leash and sit by my feet. He doesn't like that, he gets very nervous. He prefers to be in his carrier under the seat where he curls up and hibernates. Good luck.
PS don't feed your dog before you go, they can get air sick and throw up, just like people.

Does Beauregard ride in the cabin in his carrier or down belowNEW by: Leslie and Jasper
What a cute pic Mr. Beauregard! I'd love to know more about how traveling goes. Jasper is really good when I have him in his carrier at the grocery even We have not explored plane travel. How do you work that with the airlines. Do you have a pic of him and his carrier so we can see him in his travel carrier. Thanks

Puppy Travel by: Maureen S.C.
I hope your puppy is a better air traveler than our Riley, ,even with medication from the vet he still shivers and cries. We tried it twice, now we drive everywhere Its not fair to put him through that. So good luck.
Nearly three years ago we lost our little Coton named Keeva. She had kept us on our toes for 10 years. My husband and I, in our 70’s, were devastated and
Louie is just over 3 months old. When I get him outside for a walk and to get him potty trained, he tends to pick things up to chew. Because he's so close
