Handling eye stain NEW

I have a hygiene routine with my soon to be 6 y/0 Annie. When I brush her teeth at night, I also clean her eyes, either with wipes for that purpose or warm towel. Her problem is the small little patches of crust that are in the corners of her eyes next to her nose. She really doesn't have staining. She drinks bottled spring water and eats a tablespoon of cottage cheese most mornings. I don't know if that helps or not, but something works for her.

Cleaning around the eyes NEW

Thanks for your kind comments. I keep the hair around her eyes on a whitish color, cleaning every morning and every afternoon. I clean with a soft wet cotton towel, with warm water, and drying with the same towel on the dry side. If it’s to dark, I separate the darkest hairs and very carefully cut them. I also use, especially after her afternoon walks, the commercial eye wet pads, and again dried them with cotton towel. I clean her body hair twice a day, including her paws.
