New habits for my older dog

I have a 14.5 year old Coton named Monty. He is an lovely little guy! Lately Monty has picked up some new habits, such as whining for company when he is on another floor of the house. He has also begun asking to go out at odd hours. Blood work from this week was perfect. Any similar experiences? I am now looking to bring another Coton into the house, not a puppy tho.

We have a female that is 13 and starting to exhibit similar behavior. Also, not wanting to be on furniture and preferring to be at our feet. I think she is starting to feel her age.

Older Cotons

It seems the older they get, they do seem to change. My little Coton is now sleeping behind my drapes.I wonder if they just want privacy. She is 8 years old.
