Skin pimenatation under the coat

She has darker patches of skin that are clear when she's wet or has had a summer cut

Is this normal?

My vet seems to think it's nothing to worry about

Our 2 year old has quite a lot of skin pigmentation ears, chin and under carriage.

My Male Coton has the same thing. Really dark on the lower under belly.
I guess its normal.

My Coton also has dark areas of skin pigmentation. His skin ranges from pink to almost a dark gray, which shows through when he is wet or when he groomed short (especially on his belly) I don't know if it is my imagination or not - but at times his skin seems to change color and the dark patches get lighter or darker. I did find one website that described the original Coton de Tulears from Madagascar having this modeled look to their skin, and that it changed due to hormones and skin temperature. This is quite an anomoly!
