Puppies do sleep a lot. They are just like human babies. Sleep, pee, eat, poop, play and it starts all over again, lol.
I have found that our two do pretty much what we do, if we are quiet they snuggle beside us or get on their pads. If we are up doing something they will play and try and get our attention.
Good luck with yours and Congrats to you. They are wonderful companions.

Yes they sleep alot. Eat, sleep, play & start out with small walks twice a day so it's not to strenuous on their growing bones.

Puppies Sleep alot?NEW by: Anonymous
My CoCo at 13 weeks, when he first came to me, slept alot during the day and woke up at NIGHTS!
We both enjoy being up at nights and we both enjoy lots & lots of sleep, day naps and all. We sleep together. I thought he was just mirroring some of my patterns. Then I read it is natural for a Coton puppy to sleep an hour, wake an hour, and BE active at night. I just went with the flow, even when he day napped on the couch or at my feet in the office. He was always responsive for a 10 minute yard play every hour. My Vet said CoCo was in perfect health.
Today at 8 months we sleep alot too . I read the Coton can tolerate both exercise or passive activity. Two days are never the same. He always gets lots of attention and loads of love. We do most things together. He is seldom alone, always at my side even when I prepare homemade treats. He has lots of play toys and vistors. He has three yards to run & play plus a full natural River walk, loads of car rides and store shopping plus Go-Go visits with friends.
I read that too much aggressive exercise for a full-breed puppy can hurt his hips and we are to restrict his jumping play time. I also heard from a breeder that staircase "steps" are no-no's for a full-breed Coton puppy.
I wouldn't worry about "too much" sleep. Puppy Sleep is healing for separation-from-litter stress and for growing bones, organs and teething.
My Coton loves verbal attention and lots of cuddle play, lots of home grooming "to look pretty" and lots of "staring in the eyes" for communication play. He loves pictures from "mommy's iPad" and short bed-time stories. My 10 minute office breaks is all it takes each hour to keep him happy & exercised. Then he sleeps well, near me, usually at my feet or my lap, or plays with his meat-bone or ball toys.
I think the point is they are content if they are 'near' us, no matter what they are doing, sleeping or otherwise.
Nearly three years ago we lost our little Coton named Keeva. She had kept us on our toes for 10 years. My husband and I, in our 70’s, were devastated and
Louie is just over 3 months old. When I get him outside for a walk and to get him potty trained, he tends to pick things up to chew. Because he's so close
