I am glad to hear Sophie is fine. Jonah used to go for the squeakies in the toy. Luckily the outside digging is over. Living in Az. we have Valley Fever that humans & pets can get from the soil so I watched him carefully.
Jonah hides his milkbones & chew bones under pillows, in his crate, under the beds & now behind the Christmas tree every year when up. It is funny I will assume he has enjoyed his chew bone & all of a sudden a week later he will appear with it & chew it.
He likes the little knotted dingo bones & at the most he gets 2 a week. He will only chew one when someone is home but will carry it everywhere that day inside & out. Yet it never fails when I do a through cleaning I will find one in the strangest hiding places.
Jonah will eat raw or cooked veggies with me & I always put a teaspoons worth boiled or grilled chicken breast or ground turkey on his dry food. I use "known toxic food for dogs" website for do's & don'ts. Yet it seems more & more people food & dog food ingredients keeps getting recalled. It's hard to keep us both really safe.

Bailey buries stuff like Sophie too! by: Bailey and Lubby
It is quite fun to watch Bailey take a bone, shoe, chew stick and dig a hole and bury the item. He buries, then changes his mind, digs a new hole and buries it again, at least 3-4 times before he finds the right spot. The only thing I have been worried about is the raw bone going in the ground, and dug up later. As soon as he digs it up I take it from him right away, as I would think there could be bacteria on it. I really have to watch him (7 mths old) he wants to eat stuffing from his toys, foil, (pooped a piece out)always seems to be chewing and swallowing something before I can reach him.
I am so glad Sophie is doing better. It is so heart wrenching to see them suffer. I had a hawk come and visit our yard today....that was pretty scary. Not only do we have to watch for bears, skunks, racoons, I now have to look up!
Thanks for this website - it is nice to share our stories about our babies!

Tuffy buries the bones like Sophie by: Iris
Glad to hear Sophie is recovering! Yes, that is common for dogs to want to hide their food, treats, anything, it is a throwback to their survival in the wild when they would catch wild game and bury it to keep it from other animals and have something to eat for later.
Tuffy does that with treats that are too big like the beef stick or rawhide bones, or things that don't appeal to him like those greenie things, he rarely eats them, he buries it in the cushions of the couch, and once under my bed pillow. Once in a while he digs it out, walks around with it in his mouth, then finds another hiding place, like inside the closet, Too cute! I love watching him do that "wild thing".
Nearly three years ago we lost our little Coton named Keeva. She had kept us on our toes for 10 years. My husband and I, in our 70’s, were devastated and
Louie is just over 3 months old. When I get him outside for a walk and to get him potty trained, he tends to pick things up to chew. Because he's so close
