Strange "gurgle" sound from our Coton

Hi,

Our Jordy is a 2 1/2 yr.old male. Ever since he was just a couple of months old, he would make a strange "gurgle" sound that is a little different every time. It's not a burp or a belch and it comes at random times of the day and night i.e not just after meals.
I read from someone on this site that it was normal for Cotons, but I'm concerned that it is maybe acid reflux or could turn into something like human Barrets Disease? Maybe I'm just over-protective?
Has anyone else heard of this? Or know of a Vet that knows Cotons real well that I can pay for a consult?

Is the "gurgle" sound low, subdued and somewhat like cat's purr?
My Coton - 6 years old male - makes all sorts of funny sounds to get attention. The low catty "purr" is the funniest - as if he is trying ever so tactfully and unobtrusively to remind that it's his feeding or walking time.

Hi John,

You are wise to be proactive on this. It definitely could be acid reflux or some other condition that can lead to more serious problems. If you learn of a Coton specialist - or - a vet who is familiar with the health concerns that are more frequent with Cotons, that would be great to share on this website.

In the meantime, I would consider the food your pup is eating and appetite. Is your pup having regular good size BMs? As far as you can tell, do you believe the gastrointestinal tract is healthy? Might there be an issue with gluten or GMOs causing leaky gut and possible autoimmunity issues?

Keep us posted on your progress with this concern.
