Hi everyone! My Coton is about 1.5 years old, and has recently been throwing up a little bit almost every night for the past few days. I have known that he has a very sensitive stomach for a while, but he has not had an episode like this.
I went to the vet and they told me to switch his dry food. He was eating Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Chicken Meal Formula (this is what his breeder feeds all of her dogs), but the vet told me to switch to Hill's Ideal Balance Grain Free Natural Salmon and Potato Recipe. The only problem is, when I looked up Hill's online it did not have very good reviews, even though the vet said it would be good for him. Do any of you have Cotons with sensitive stomachs? What do you feed them? Thanks!!

I have a year old coton named Pika. We love him dearly. We have been giving him Natural Balance Dry Grain Free Limited Ingredient Diet Bison and Sweet Potato food. He was eating it with no problems until recently. He will eat anything else (meaning what my kids might give him or even my husband. I told my family to stop giving him "extras", but Pika still refuses his food.
Since he has been on the same food for all his 12 months perhaps it is time to change it. Do you have any suggestions on what else is there that tastes great?
Thanks
Iwona

I have had my 1 year old coton for 2 months now. I started him on blue and he doesn't like it. I started him now on wellness core and I am having the same problem. The only way he will eat the dry food is if I cook chicken or meat or an egg to mix in the food. I also tried a variety of wet food and he turns his nose up to it. He seems to want people food.
I sometimes give him a carrot or some apple or veggie as a treat. Also Yam. He loves all of that.
I just want him to eat the dry food for his vitamins.

I would like to know what the healthiest dog food choices are for a Coton. I have tried different ones but I want to make sure I know what to watch out for in the ingredients. I feed my sweet girl all natural (per the package but there are always a few ingredients that I question. Hope you can make a recommendation.

There are so many dog foods available, how do I know the best thing to feed my dog? My Vet said to stay away from most of the supermarket varieties of dog food, but that still leaves so many choices.

I would like to know what everyone feeds their Cotons. I have been reading so many bags of dog food and I am getting more confused.
I want to stay away from the ingredient of beets for Triscuit's eyes. Right now she eats less than a cup a day of Pedigree, but I don't think that's the best dog food for her.
Any help would be appreciated.
THANKS KATHY AND TRISCUIT

Hi, I have a 4 year old coton, Mochi. She is very picky on her food. I have tried different brands of dog food: Nature Balance, Wellness, Blue, Instinct and she ate none of them. Finally, I eats Innov Prime (Turkey and chicken flavor). Actually, chicken and Turkey are the only protein she eats. However, Innove Prime has a recall recently. I have to find a substitution. Does anyone has any suggestion on good brand for cotton with Turkey flavor?
Thank you!

So Giuseppe is our first Coton (and dog as we have always had cats in the past).
I am curious as to how much a 13 pound+/- size Coton should be eating in a day? He is 10 months old and I 'think' his growth should be slowing down now?
He eats 3x/day because of some regurgitation/reflux issues and very little treats (or he won't eat his healthier meals). Right now he is on Primal Petfood (raw) and eats their duck, lamb, and turkey/sardine formulations. He never took to kibble.
He is neutered and active but doesn't go for mile-long jaunts. Some calculations say he should be eating over 600 calories...others around 350 or so. It's so hard to figure out.
Thanks in advance!
Elena
