Cotons burying bisquits

hello Anne & Molly. That is so funny, isn't it? I am pretty sure it's a dog thing, not just the Coton. Tuffy will immediately eat his favorite treats, but the dog biscuits are " I'll eat this if I'm starving"treats, so he buries them around the house for safe keeping.Some of those bon shaped dog bisquits are too big for him to eat at once. If we accidently find one he's buried he will quickly move it to another secret hideout. Outdoor dogs and other animals bury food to return to eat it when thy are finished hunting and gathering. That is what our darling Cotons are doing(only indoors).

Hiding Treats

Hi. I just read your blog on Tuffy. He is so handsome and sounds like a great companion to you. I hope he had a great birthday. You mentioned that Tuffy hides his treats. We adopted our Molly about a year ago. She hides any treats we give her. We never saw a dog hide treats or toys before. We keep finding her bisquits in the oddest places - in my slippers, in the furniture cushions, under the furniture out of sight etc. And if she thinks you are close to one of her hidden bisquits, she watches every move you make. When I'm vacuuming, I have to put her treat back where I found it. Is this a typical Coton behavior? We find this facinating. Anne

Happy Birthday, Tuffy. It's only right that you take care of your Mom since she does such a good job of taking care of you. And how can she not feel better when she sees your smiling face?
