to Regina, Tuffy's eyes by: Iris Miller
Three things I do, I do not feed him any food with beet root or food coloring in it. I gently wash the crust away from his eyes with a cotton pad soaked in lukewarm water,*the dust from his dry food seems to stick there) using one side of the cotton for each eye and wipe away, out from the corners, then when the crust softens from the warm water it easily wipes off. I do this every day or so. I also use small round end scissors to carefully trim the hair AWAY(not pointed in toward the eye) from his eyes. Tuffy is used to me fussing with him, I put him on the bathroom counter so he is pretty much compelled to wait for me to finish with him, Tuffy knows "don't move!" and "stand"(still) and "turn" )he is also a stubborn Coton de Tulear and will run away and hide from me when he does not want his face washed, so I have to catch him when he is off guard. he is my star. love, Iris and Tuffy
